Rhodes is the biggest island of the Dodekanesos, located between Crete and Turkey. The nickname of Rhodes is the island of the Knights. There are many interesting historical sites on the island, but most famous is the old Medieval castle in Rhodes city and the Mandraki Port where the Colossus of Rhodes used to be. In the south of the Island, you will find the picturesque small town of Lindos.

Lindos, the white city of Rhodes, is built against a hill with the Acropolis of Lindos at the top. There are many beautiful beaches and therefore a perfect destination to spend your summer. In the spring, the island is covered with colourful flowers and you will see the green treetops all over the island.

Rhodes is one of the most visited islands in Greece and therefore very touristic, especially in July and August. We travelled here in September to avoid the mass tourism but still, enjoy the sun and hot temperatures (35 degrees).

We will give you some tips to avoid the big mass and still see all the beautiful places of Rhodes Island (click on the links below).
